vzx is a BBS, the dial-up bulletin board brought back over the internet, run as one board on nodes around the world. Wherever you call in, you are on the same board, with the same account, chat and games.
- The terminal opens on whichever site answers first. Log in, or type new to sign up, and your session moves to the site nearest you, or the one you pick.
- Call from this page, or with SSH, telnet or RLogin from a terminal such as SyncTERM. Over SSH, log in as new to sign up.
- Door games: classic DOS doors such as Barren Realms Elite run as they always did, Amiga doors too, and new games made for vzx draw in 24-bit colour, sixel or kitty graphics where your terminal can.
- Each game's world is shared, so you play the same world from whichever node you call.
- Nodes are updated while you are on them: the front holding your connection keeps it while the node restarts, and you carry on where you were.
